Founder Robert Dyer tells us what to expect from North Wales’ upcoming sci-fi convention
Scifi Wales is the new sci-fi, comic and gaming event in North Wales.
Organised by UK Conventions Ltd, it will be held at the impressive Venue Cymru in Llandudno, and will take place in support of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Scifi Wales has already picked up a lot of support, something Dyer happily mentions. “We have some amazing fans who interact with us through social media on a daily basis, all of whom we can’t wait to meet at Scifi Wales in September,” said Dyer. “We also have the support of some great local businesses within Llandudno and the surrounding areas.”
The roster of attendees makes for impressive reading, with Red Dwarf stars Robert Llewellyn and Hattie Heyridge, John Challis (Only Fools And Horses) and Paul Kasey (Being Human) already confirmed. The exclusive book launch for Gerry Anderson’s Gemini Force One: Ghost Mine (Book Two) will also take place, with author MG Harris in attendance. In addition, there will be autograph rooms, a traders hall, talks and panels, a free-to-play retro arcade and much more besides to ensure that there is something for everyone.
Dyer finished, “We love sci-fi, and we hope everyone will support this new event.”
Scifi Wales takes place on 5 September at Venue Cymru in Llandudno. Tickets start at just £10 from www.scifi.wales and also by calling the Venue Cymru box office on .
