Scifi Wales team members, Sammy Jo and Steve have heroically taken up the challenge to trek up Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, at night, for the Alzheimer’s Society!

Steve said "I decided to take part in this amazing challenge for the Alzheimer's Society after being introduced to the charity through Scifi Wales last year. I have climbed Snowdon before, but the challenge of doing it at night for an amazing cause will make the experience even better".

Both Sammy Jo and Steve hope to raise over £500 in donations by trekking to the summit of Snowdon on 15th May 2015. The trek starts at around 10.30pm and allows time for participants to reach the summit in time to see the sun come up.

Sammy Jo said "This will be a personal challenge for me after receiving back surgery when I was younger, but it's something I am looking forward to doing both for myself and also such a great charity like the Alzheimer’s Society".

Jeremy Hughes, Chief Executive at Alzheimer's Society, said "We are delighted that Sammy Jo and Steve from Scifi Wales are giving their time to support Alzheimer's Society. One in three people over 65 will develop dementia. It is caused by diseases of the brain and can happen to anyone. As a charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals like Sammy and Steve to help us continue our vital work. Please back the Scifi Wales team in their fundraising efforts so that Alzheimer's Society can continue leading the fight against dementia."

Sammy Jo and Steve will join a group of people of all ages and from all backgrounds on the Alzheimer's Society Snowdon Midnight Challenge. The trip takes place on 15th May 2015.
